What will you see?
As the farm is 100% arable, growing only crops, there are no farm animals to see. Come to Crowmarsh Battle Farm to see our whole farm approach, where rotations, the selective use of inputs and efficient use of resources is balanced with planned environmental management to make Crowmarsh Battle Farm a truly sustainable business. You will see how a modern farm works: the fields with crops, the machinery, the technology, the conservation and the wildlife.
Classroom facilities are available in The Cart Shed, part of the refurbished barns complex. We also have a specially made 20 seat trailer for tours around the farm.
LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) was set up in 1991. A group of farmers, environmentalists, food and agricultural organisations, consumers, government and academics got together to narrow the gap between consumers and farmers. Crowmarsh Battle Farms has been a Leaf Demonstration farm since 1996.
FACE (Farming and Countryside Education) was setup in September 2001, with the aim of helping young people learn more about food and farming in a sustainable countryside. More recently LEAF Education has taken over from FACE working across the education, farming and food sectors to inspire, engage and mobilise farmers and teachers about the value of farming in a learning context.
